In July 2011 I entered the Waterstone’s ‘Picture This 2011’ illustration competition.

The brief was to design one double page spread and three character designs for a new version of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to be written by Michael Morpurgo.

The characters are Belle, the Beast and Belle’s Father.

The double page was illustrating the moment the Beast first appears to confront Belle’s Father.
